Vermont Spirits Gold is pure, delicate,
unflavored vodka handmade in small batches from the sugar of maple
sap. It is triple distilled and lightly filtered to allow the
distinctive quality of the maple fermentation to come through.
That quality combines a fragrant nose with smoothness in the mouth
and a slight burn that delights the true lover of a vodka with
character.
The alcohol in most vodka comes from grain -- corn, wheat or
rye --which is processed and mashed to release sugars that form
the substrate for fermentation. Large scale distilling methods
eradicate any difference in taste between vodka from different
grains and even between vodka from grain and potatoes. Only the
techniques of artisan distilling, constant vigilance and highly
accurate, laboratory-quality stills would allow the subtlety of
these differences to shine through.
In Vermont Spirits Gold Vodka you can taste the essence of
spring in the Northeast. Frozen nights and sunny days pump sap
from the earth like a silent geyser. First run sap is boiled and
sent directly to the fermenters. When the fermenters fill to
capacity, the flowing sap is stored as syrup, later to be
rehydrated with spring water, fermented and distilled. There is no
other vodka like Gold. It is the "single- malt" of
vodka, a pure expression of the valley where it is made.
Serving Suggestions Vermont Spirits Gold stands on its
own alone. Let first-time tasters drink it neat at room
temperature, in a clean glass with no ice. For a martini, shake it
with ice and add nothing but a twist of fresh, preferably organic
lemon. For mixed drinks that feature fruit juice, vermouth or
Kahlua, use another vodka.
